Wait, How am I Back Here Again?

Updated: Sep 1, 2021

The year has begun at last. After a year of hard work, vigorous planning, and dedication, my ISM year came to an end. Now, here I am, back in the same classroom, and ready for a second round of this class that offered me such great opportunities. My first week has already been full of learning, knowledge, and experiences. We gave our introduction speeches where we introduced ourselves as well as our chosen topics for the year. I take pride in my speaking and volunteered to go first, and I personally think I did very well on the speech. This was a major goal of mine for the beginning of ISM 2, and I feel confident in saying that I successfully achieved this goal. Another goal I have set for myself in terms of the year in general is to get my work done earlier than I did last year. I found myself working until the last minute several times which put me in stressful and uncomfortable situations. This year, I would like to avoid that stress and be more on top of my assignments. A way I plan on doing this is by noting down what I need to get done during the week, and turning in my assignments early so that I have time to catch any mistakes or fix anything before it is too late. Another goal for this year is to truly enjoy the work that I am doing. Last year I found myself getting bored and uninterested, and although it might have been because I did not have a true passion for my topic, I know that I do not want that to happen again. I want to make sure that I enjoy every small detail of my ISM journey this year, not only to make it a great experience, but also to wrap up my senior year with an experience that is full of knowledge and excitement. I look forward to reaching these goals throughout the next few months.
